DOE Announces $29 Million in Recovery Act Awards for Weatherization Training Centers

The Department of Energy (DOE) recently announced that 34 projects in 27 states had been selected to receive $29 million in Recovery Act funding to develop and expand weatherization training centers to provide job training for local workers in energy efficiency retrofitting and weatherization services.  This Recovery Act funding will support the expansion of eight existing weatherization training centers and the establishment of 26 new training centers.

 
One of the entities selected to receive funding for a weatherization training center is the Central Council Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska.
