CBO Issues Recovery Act Report on Number of Jobs Created
On May 25, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released a report on the Recovery Act entitled Estimated Impact of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act on Employment and Economic Output from January 2010 Through March 2010. The Recovery Actrequires the Congressional Budget Office to comment on the reports filed by certain recipients of funding under the Act which detail how many jobs were created or retained through Recovery Act-funded activities. The May CBO report shows the Recovery Act increased the number of workers by between 1.2 million and 2.8 million. The CBO also projects that 3.7 million jobs could be attributed to the Recovery Act by the end of September, 2010. A copy of the report is available here:
