HHS Announces Recovery Act Funding for Grants for Enhanced Registries for Quality Improvement and Comparative Effectiveness Research
On January 21, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality in the Department of Health and Human Services posted on www.Grants.gov a funding opportunity announcement for Recovery Act funding for Research Project Grant applications that propose to develop the infrastructure and improve the methodology for collecting prospective data from electronic clinical databases to generate new evidence on the comparative effectiveness of healthcare interventions. Federally recognized tribal governments, tribal organizations, community-based organizations, and Indian/Native American tribal governments that are not federally recognized are among the entities eligible to apply for grants under this program. The Recovery Act provided $24 million for this health research program. The closing date for applications is March 29, 2010.
