General Provisions:
Allocated funds are to be used for both telehealth services development and related infrastructure requirements typically funded through the ‘Indian Health Facilities’ account. It is unclear at this point whether the funds for this account will be maintained solely within Indian Health Service for the update of their system or whether any portion of the funds will be distributed to tribal health facilities and/or programs.

Funds will be allocated at the discretion of the Director. Activities will include health record modernization and security enhancements. Approximately 20% of the funds will be used for hardware acquisition. IHS anticipates that 60% of the funds will be obligated by FY 2009.
