Program Description:

The Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR) is a Federal program that provides commodity foods to low-income households, including the elderly, living on Indian reservations, and to Native American families residing in designated areas near reservations and in the State of Oklahoma.

Funding Guidance and Timelines:

The project grants will be for the costs relating to facility improvements and equipment upgrades. Grantees will have no administrative cost-sharing requirements.

General Provisions:

The Food and Nutrition Service agency distributed need assessment surveys to each FDPIR region. The agency will use the needs assessments as a basis to allocate stimulus funding to FDPIR Projects.

Funding Notices:

The Food and Nutrition Service Agency will contact grantees through the regional representatives. Guidance for receiving stimulus funding will come directly from the agency.
