Eligibility and Type:

Competitive, grants to State, local, and tribal governments in rural states
 

Program Description:

This program provides resources for a competitive grant program to provide assistance to law enforcement in rural states and rural areas, to prevent and combat crime, especially drug related crime. Under this solicitation, tribes can apply for grants for a broad range of purposes, including hiring detention, probation, parole and law enforcement officers, or program staff. Programs that deal with substance abuse and mental health assessment and treatment for individuals involved with the justice system are also encouraged.
